Second-year students of the Logistics Program at Mersin University's Vocational School of Social Sciences participated in practical training activities as part of their Professional Development and Seminar course, within the framework of a cooperation protocol with ATAKO company. Within the scope of the 12-week training program conducted in accordance with the protocol signed between the Vocational School of Social Sciences and ATAKO company, students had the opportunity to meet with sector experts and observe logistics processes in the field.
The program, coordinated by Lecturer Erdem Daşçı, also included the participation of Lecturer Dr. Şerban Bakay Ergene. In the training sessions conducted by ATAKO field experts, students had the opportunity to examine customs and non-customs cargo handling, operational processes, handling applications, full and empty container operations, and logistics operations related to transport vehicles in warehouse and storage areas. Thanks to the field work, students gained comprehensive knowledge about the practical aspects of the logistics sector and had the opportunity to support their theoretical knowledge with practical experience.
The program aimed to develop students' professional skills in logistics operations management, process tracking, field applications, and teamwork. At the same time, the program contributed to students gaining professional awareness by allowing them to observe the dynamic structure of the sector firsthand.
At the end of the program, a certificate of appreciation was presented to Domestic Logistics Coordinator Yusuf Kaya for his contributions to the students and for sharing his industry experience. The event concluded as a productive practical training exercise that significantly contributed to the professional development of the students.
